GOOD QUESTION...
Larry posted sick stats:
In just 9 starts he had 20 rushing tds along with 1750 yards (5.2 per rush).
Alexander is great, do not get me wrong. LJ would have won MVP had he started 16 games. Everyone is saying: "Oh Roaf is gone now." FYI: Roaf missed half the season and when he did play -- he was playing hurt.
Larry would have broken just about every statistical category for a running back in one season had he have started all 16 games -- MVP Worthy? YES!

The votes would be extremely close because both are talented backs. The one thing about the NFL though is it is a league that awards are given to those not just based on stats but where your team ranks at the end of the season. As everyone knows the Seahwaks had a much better season than the Chiefs. In my opinion Shaun Alexander would've still won the MVP race but by a small margin.

I think that Shaun Alexander and LJ would have shared the MVP honors last year if he played all year. The same as Peyton Manning and Steve McNair did in 2003.

Shaun Alexander is NOT a fraud, he's always put up good numbers. No LJ would NOT have been MVP because LJ had 336 carries last year. If he had been the starter all year he wouldn't have gotten so many carries later in the year. 336 carries is a lot. He would have split later...

If LJ played all year, he would have broken Dickerson's record of 2105 yards rushing and been the MVP. With that, if every NFL running back ran behind the same offensive line for 320 carries, #21 on San Diego would have the most yards.

Even though Alexander had a great year I think LJ would have had a better year, but Alexander would probably still been MVP unless the Chiefs could of made the playoffs.

he would have been really close....LJ was one of the best in the overall draft and would have put up MAJOR points.....he's a great player with a lot of bad luck...this season shall tell but i think anything's possible.....you never know with an injury but i think it's very possible.....
it also depends on the success of the entire team...if the team does bad then most likely the individual on that team will have more trouble...so the seahawks doing so well looks good for shaun anyway

How is shaun alexander a fraud? No, shaun alexander really new how to deal with defenses and could really stretch them to open of the passing game. Thats why Seattle's passing game was near the top.

of course. and Shaun Alexander is a little over rated. He has the best pro bowl offensive linemen, and runs to the right side about 70% of the time.
