Because we were attacked and if the President didnt stand up and do something then we would all be in danger. First it was Afghanistan and then it was Iraq because the war became a War on Terror and we tried to capture those who had harmed or might have been planning to harm the US. btw I give mad props to Bush for finally getting Saddam. As for the continuing war effort, its due to trying to establish a type of goverment in Iraq. We took away their leader, very evil and powerful man, and we cant just leave them. Unfortunately they do not want to cooperate so our soldiers are in there. Everything is done for the good of the American people. Although many people may not believe it or choose to call out Bush a dumbass (which i do not agree with), we are trying to prevent other attacks and plots. Look at what was just discovered in England a day ago. Plots and more plots just to hurt innocent American citizens. We are fighting that and since we lost thousands of innocent lives and two beautiful buildings, we will continue to fight and protect both our freedom and our security.

Watch World Trade Center. That's called an attack. Al queda is not a country with borders and a government, but Afghanistan's government did provide support for the group linked to the attack. Why we're in Iraq is somewhat more questionable, but Saddam Hussein and other Arab leaders did not immediately condemn the attack. Saddam also was known to have ordered genocide of the Kurds. Saddam was rumored to be in the market for tactical nuclear weapons that many feared were coming to the black market with the breakup of the Soviet Union. Saddam had enough cash that he could afford them. He was no longer considered a friend of the USA. He had shown a history of contempt for others. Many of our allies who are in the area were concerned. There were similarities between his actions and the 1920's and 30's German National Socialist movement that brought about World War II. Perhaps invading Iraq was an overreaction, perhaps it was the smartest thing ever done to prevent a major war in the 21st century.

The Bush admin insisted there were weapons of mass destruction being stockpiled in Iraq, even after U.N. inspectors found none. While there could have been WMD, there was no proof. However, in the wake of 9-11, the President was itching to get his hands on Iraq, although there was nothing to link it to 9-11. Unfortunately, Congress totally backed him up and we invaded Iraq as a "pre-emptive" measure. And did someone mention Afghanastan? Osama? I'd almost forgotten about them, and I don't think I'm the only one. . .

Henry Kissinger said that the military is made of of nothing but dumb stupid animal's that are to be used for political gain. I think that is why bush wanted to go to war.

Remember this? "Those evil doers have weapons of mass destruction!" How did Bush know this, you ask? Because someone told Laura at a tea party and she told big George.

That was Afghanistan. We went in there because we knew Osama bin Laden was being harbored there. We gave the Taliban several chances to turn him over and they refused.
