i think the world would be one way if we KNEW that time travel existed and was involved throughout history - and that would be very different from the situation where time travel was involved but we didn't know it even existed.
the latter case would be indistinguishable from now - from history as we know it.

Time travel (other than time going forward) can't solve any of the world's problems. Every cause has an effect. Going back to change one thing would undoubtedly change everything else. Consider the butterfly effect - "A butterfly fluttering its wings in China causes a thunderstorm in New York." Changing the past to affect the present would deny the fact that there is any point to life beyond living it. Life is about learning. All of the things that happen in this world, good and bad make us grow and make us who we are. Time travel would not change the world, the road may diverge a little bit, but the lessons we need to learn are the same, so the course would just find its way back to where we were going to begin with.

Every major historical event in human history did involve time travel. If time travel was non-existant, then there would be no history. There'd be no future without time travel.

maybe that's the answer to our world problems.
if we had time travel at will,we could see what the outcomes are in advance and then prevent the problems to begin with ... or we can fast forward to the times with the lessons learnt behind us.
interesting thought -- what if this is all an illusion anyway?

people who don't/didn't believe in the holocaust will start believing it
