I think so many people had problems with it that it's not recommended like it used to be. Depo Provera is EVIL -- avoid it at all costs. It gave me icepick migraines *your brain swells and the symptoms mimick a brain tumor* and it made me lactate. Fun times. The Nuva Ring is a godsend for me -- 3 weeks on, a week off, and NO side effects (for me anyway).

It's still on the market, but compared to the other birth control methods that have come out since it was released, it's moderately ineffective. I'm only saying that COMPARED to them, it's ineffective. Depo, Yasmin, and all the other methods have come out since then, and now there are many different BC meds that offer lower hormone levels.

Eventually, it will be phased out.

Well this is the thing. It is still around but it was never very good. There was some thing a few years back about women being on it but it wasn't really effective. They were still getting pregnant. I know several girls from my home town that were on it and they all got pregnant while on it.

Not used much anymore. My aunt had the noraplant for like a year then decided to have it removed, well somehow it implanted in her arm and the doctors had to literally dig it out! She has a HUGE scar from it. I think they had alot of problems with implantation.
