When the strategic super powers get into the act ....on opposite sides, then we'll talk WWIII. Until then, the middle east is a side show among rump states...albeit a dangerous spark to a larger conflagaration. Remember the 6- days War had Israel facing off with Egypt, Syria and Jordan, and it wasn't considered the start of WWIII, altho it had the potential... It all boils down to the actions of the strategic powers (US, Russia and China).

WWII never ended. MacArthur wanted to go take down Russia as soon as we finished up with Japan in 1945. The 40 odd years of the Cold War with Russia that followed involved conflicts all over the world. Include to this the establishment of an Israeli state and the economic struggle for oil resources worldwide. To some degree many problems date back to WWI.
The phrase "New World Order" dates back to the days of Woodrow Wilson and the establishment of the League of Nations (the predecessor to the UN). World domination of Western political and economic philosophy is the goal of New World Order thinking. Some people don't like it...
If you meant WW III as an analogy for the end of the world then I would simply answer no. Where there's breath there's life. Where there's life there's hope.

I think that WW III has not yet started. Considering the war between Israel and Lebanon, I could say that many countries and people are affected. I just hope that this war doesn't get worse starting up a new world war which would be world war III. Peace!

I think DOC needs to read a newspaper, watch the TV news or listen to the radio. Yes we are in beginning of WW III. Islamic fascists are attacking all over the world. Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, Middle East, South America. It's more than just two countries involved. Anywhere there is a non-Muslim neighbor of a Muslim majority country there is fighting.

NO, not yet.
Israel is willing to make peace and eventually Hezbollah will run out of rocket launchers. Israel has destroyed the Airport and the roads leading to Syria to stop Hezbollah's re-supply.
I'm worried about Iran. Iran founded Hezbollah in 1982; its sole intention "is to drive Israel into the sea." They and Syria have helped supply Hezbollah with money and arms. They encouraged Hezbollah's terrorist attacks. The last time UN Peacekeepers tried to stop a war between Hezbollah and Israel the Peacekeeping Mission was lead by the US Marines. Hezbollah's first response was to drive a truck bomb into their barracks, killing most of the Marines. That ended the UN Peacekeeping Mission and Israel invaded. Lebanon was torn apart by civil war and a long bloody conflict with Israel. Yet Hezbollah has no problem with that. They seem to be trying to goad Israel into invading Lebanon. The Lebanonise government is still weak and they can't control Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been waiting 20 years to start this war. Have you noticed how just as things got tough for Hamas Hezbollah started firing rockets into Israel? It is clear that these groups are working together.
Iran is getting close to developing the atomic bomb. The have buried their plant underground (because Israel destroyed the last one), so deep that it might take an atomic bomb to destroy it. Iran has no trouble with continuing their program. They are already under sanctions from many countries and are allies with Russia so they don’t’ fear the UN. If the UN somehow gets tough with them then all they have to do is to cut the price of oil to China and they will get every UN action, against them, blocked. So it is not a question of IF they are going to develop the atomic bomb, it is only a matter of WHEN.
Iran won’t be stupid enough to attack Israel or the US with an atomic bomb; they will just “sell” them to Hezbollah. They will make sure to create small bombs, ones that can be smuggled into the US or lobbed into Israel. Once Hezbollah gets a few bombs they WILL use them. Israel has had the atomic bomb for over a decade. They have several weapons and I bet they are dispersed across Israel waiting in special armories in case if they have to be used. Israel has US equipment that is only 10-20 years behind the United States best. They can easily fire a missile or drop an atomic bomb anywhere they want in the Middle East. If a nuke explodes on Israeli soil then they WILL retaliate.
If the US gets hit with a nuke, then they WILL retaliate. At that point it will be very hard to not let the conflict get out of hand. The world needs oil, and the Middle East has a lot of it. China has nukes, but no oil they need the Middle East. The Chinese are replacing their bicycles with cars so their need for oil is only growing. If Iran gets hit, if the oil supply is somehow blocked then the world will be in chaos. The $3 a gallon gasoline prices were just caused by FEARS that Iran might cut off its oil supply. Imagine what happens if that actually happened. The entire world may be plunged into war; fighting for the scarce oil reserves.
IRAN and its nuclear bomb program is what could bring on WWIII. The US is trying a diplomatic solution, but it is imperative that Iran DOES NOT get the Atomic Bomb. If they do it will fall into terrorists hands and they will use them soon after. Every Moslem extremist group will fall all over themselves, and they will promise Iran ANYTHING to get their hands on those nukes. Can you see Iran NOT giving it to them?

The real question, is did WW 2 end? Who says? If so, WW 3 started in 1948 with the formation of Israel and the following armed retaliation of the Arab world. This never ended. They are still fighting this war and dragging everyone else into it. HMMM. Israel. Sounds familiar. Aren't they the same Jews having trouble with that devil Hitler? It seems to overlap.

Its in it's infancy, but yes I think we are going to have another world war and yes, it could be the last one. I find that most young people don't have a clue of what people like me are saying. But,they haven't had the experience in life yet and don't 'feel' it coming like older people seem to. I am convinced that its only a matter of time and it makes me very sad. It's like standing on railroad tracks and seeing the train hurtling towards you and are paralyzed.

international warfare III began at the same time as the international commerce middle and US Pentagon were hit with the aid of terrorists. It would not take anybody with any actual IQ to figure that one out. clone of at the same time as the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor i think international warfare II began for the U. S..
