I am not sure what part of you you are shaving, but if you are a male and you are shaving your face, here are a few tips.
In short the answer to your question is Proactiv (www.proactiv.com).
Here is my long answer:
I have quite a bit of experience with this question. Here is my answer. Any blue links in this message will take you to a place where you can view or purchase the products I talk about. I am not trying to advertise these products. I am just telling you what I use.
Use a Gillette Fusion Razor (not the power one). I like this razor a lot because it gives you a very close shave with only one stroke. Before shaving, exfoliate (remove dead skin cells). You can find these exfoliating scrubs in almost every drugstore. Or if you want to pay a little more for complete facial care (including acne), purchase a product called Proactiv (www.proactiv.com). It worked really well for me and it includes an exfoliating scrub. Many famous people use proactiv. Exfoliating before shaving greatly reduces the risk of bumps or ingrown hairs. After shaving use an oil and fragrance free moisturizer so you don't clot your pores (also included in Proactiv).
If you do have irritation already or if you get it very easily, I recommend a product called "Barc Bump Down Razor Bump Relief " available at Amazon.com by clicking here. I use this on my neck because my skin there is extra sensitive to a razor. I have not used this on my face yet because I do not need to (thanks to the Proactiv), and if you have bad acne on your face, I am not sure if this would be good for you.
I hope this helps. Reply if you have any more questions.

There are many different scrubs on the market but the ones that i've used in the past include Philosophy Gingerbread Man, Malin + Goetz Body scrub (with bamboo and has this wonderful peppermint tingle) and if you have heard of Lush, they make a great natural scrub in the store that's fresh from real fruit extract and other stuff that needs to be put in a scrub.
With scrubs, I think it's personal preferance and just as long as the quality is good (fewer chemicals, sensitive skin taken care of) then there's nothing to worry about. I think how it feels on your skin and how it smells is important too so test it out in the store.
If you're in America, try Sephora - they have a great range of stuff that you can choose from. If you're in Australia, Mecca Cosmetica sells some amazing stuff. If in the UK, places like Harrods or Selfridges stock high quality goods too.
It's best to go to places like Sephora and Mecca because they are stores that have different brands and the staff will recommend whichever one they think is best for you.

right here is what I do: Exfoliate your legs gently with apricot scrub. Then take Tressemme shampoo(sure, I mentioned shampoo) and observe on your legs and lather particularly and then shave. as quickly as you're achieved, moisturize with a lotion which will decrease the bumps like Aveeno's Posititively soft lotion(or if that is extremely undesirable, use Neosporin). For some reason the gel shampoo works on gentle pores and skin. The apricot scrub takes to the air the lifeless pores and skin layer, exposing greater of the hair that could desire to in lots of cases get trapped in case you probably did no longer exfoliate, making it a greater perfect, nearer shave. And in the adventure that your hair is coarse, you need to use the Tressemme conditioners extremely. the two way, it extremely works particularly good and my legs are so silky after.

Avon and Clinque both have a great scrub. I personally like the "sea salt" scrub sold in natural stores. Bath and Body will have them too. Oh, and Victorias Secret has a great body scrub.

i use two different ones and alternate. st. ives apricot scrub for the face works well on the bikini line and underarms for exfoliating and preventing ingrown hairs. it's not too harsh or too gentle. for your legs, i recommend bath and body works aromatherapy tranquil sugar scrubs (any scent) works great! it's has enough moisture "slick" for a nice shave!
