You got your figures way wrong. National debt was 5.7 billion at the end of fiscal 2001 to an estimate of 7.8 billion for 2006.

Why would we blame clinton?.. Clinton actually managed to wipe out the deficit in his first term and create millions of jobs if you remember...

Bush, however my friend, has been in office since 2000-present... and it was bush, not clinton, that has so far started two wars totaling over a trillion dollars and has the worst percentage of jobless people since the great depression

How in THE HELL can you blame Clinton for the deficit? I don't remember Clinton making decisions since January 19, 2000. You know who is responsible for the deficit. I hope this is sarcasm. If it isn't, then this has got to be the dumbest and biggest B.S. a Neo-con has ever said, and with O'reilly, Coulter, Limburger, and Hannity making stupid statements, that says a lot.

Blame necessary military actions against world terroism, vast federal government aid to victims of storms of historic record proportions here and abroad, and to cope with hunger and disease in America and in less fortunate countries where human beings are starving to death or dying by the milliions from deadly disease epidemics.

Clinton failed to do anything about world terrorism., and didn't have to cope with starvation and disease in other countries on the same scale.

"Bryan R" of course has no recollection or knowledge of the Great Depression and didn't have people coming to his door to beg for food. The fact is that unemployment in America is near to historic lows, and better than during the Clinton administration.

Congress controls US spending. And, oversees all government agencies.

Republicans gained control of Congress in 1994.

Republicans not only cannot manage a budget, they cannot properly oversee agencies responsible for "protecting" the US.

Zionists are responsible for the mess in the Middle East. Harry Truman caving in to Zionist pressure and acknowledging the illegal establishment of a "Jewish state" is the reason the region has been in turmoil for over fifty years.

If u . s . a . is fortunate, Obama will in basic terms double the deficit Bush had! human beings might desire to be "leaping out of their seats" to run to their telephones and make contact with their Congressperson and Senators to give up the out of control spending courses that Obama comes up with. huge employer won't pay for those courses and neither will the rich. you will pay for them interior the form of better taxes and surpassed on will develop for products and centers.

Why blame Clinton? The budget was balanced and the economy boomed with him there. The gas was affordable and we did not have a deficit. Bush is amazing how he screwed it all up!!

uh, excuse me....Clinton did not start the war in Iraq which is where most of the deficit comes from. Clinton had nothing to do with the f***ups of the person who followed him, Georgey Boy.

Clinton (and more importantly, Carter, before him) caused all of the problems we have no in the middle east. They are the ones to blame for the cost of cleaning up their messes. Better that cost is in money rather than in massive bloodshed (as they intended it to be all along).
