Dyspareunia is common for a lot of people, in most cases it is psychological, if you believe something is going to be painful for example then you are not going to relax, if you are not relaxed then your vagina will not stretch to accommodate anything going into your vagina and so this will make it painful.

Many girls and women have negative feelings about their vaginas, if not through sexual abuse of some sort then through the ideas we are taught from a young age – that it is not lady-like to have sex, that our vaginas are dirty needing to be plugged with bleach soaked tampons, that sex the first time is supposed to hurt – all these things are nonsense but very ingrained into us and something we all have to deal with.

The first step is to see a doctor to make sure that it is not anything physical that is causing the problem; from there they can work on any psychological problems that may be making penetration painful for you.

Another vitally important point is to educate yourself – this isn't meant to be offensive but two things about this question struck me as concerning. The first is that you are using tampons, these are the most harmful out of over twenty menstrual options, also for the record putting something dry into your vagina will cause pain. The second is that the hymen stretches, yes this is possible however it is more likely to break, question is whether or not your hymen has already broken or not, if it is in tact have you noticed it stretch? The more you know about your body the more you know what is going on, it is not just a matter of caring for your health, for a part of your body that you should be aware of, but also a case of giving yourself power over an area of your body where you may not have that power and knowledge, this may well be part of the problem you are facing.

Check out these sites for a start, these both talk about painful sex so should help you figure out what is wrong;

You need to relax!!! If you don't, your muscles tense up and this in turns, makes your vaginal passage narrower. Lubricant can't do anything for how you feel mentally.

If I'm not corrent in assuming you tense up a bit, you MIGHT have a yiest infection. How long has this been going on?

It's hard to say if I can't ask you certain questions straight up.

Sounds like you have some irritation of sorts, perhaps infection. Your boyfriend probably has long dirty finger nails. Better get the OB-GYN check it out.

you are unable to tell if there is infection or not, unless you are trained in gynecology, as far as you ask this question , you are not so please contact your gynecologist, it sounds serious,
as long as you have not been raped or abused for sexual behavioir (for example your parents screamed on you while they cought you during masturbation) your problem is much more likely phisical than psychological,
the only person who can accurate answer your question is gynecologist.

CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!! SHOULD NOT BE PAINFUL. DURING YEARLY WOMENS EXAMS, MY DOCTOR ASK IF I HAVE PAIN DURING INTERCOURSE. COULD BE SOMETHING THAT GOES ALONG WITH THAT QUESTION. MAYBE SOMETHING MINOR THAT DOCTOR COULD HELP YOU WITH. BESIDES THAT, PADS ARE MESSY!!!!!!!!
