sure seems like the wheels have just all fallen of at once. For the other team --the Cards--have one AMAZING bat--2 batters to respect and the rest just so-so hitters......but worst of all the pitching is just getting worse as the season goes on. I still think they'll win their division--but they sure won't win 100 or even 95 games this year--and will probably be knocked out in the 1st round of the play-offs!

I would say that it's a combination of both. They probably aren't in TOO much trouble, just because the NL is so weak and the Cards should (at the very least) be able to secure a Wild Card spot. But there has to be concern that they've played so poorly since the All-Star break. Especially since their starting pitching is such a big question mark. I wouldn't feel very confident going into the post-season the way Suppan, Marquis, and Weaver are pitching. Even Carpenter is struggling these days.

Big slump. Big trouble. Still, they will probably win the NL Central before losing to the Mets in the playoffs.

Being in trouble ands slumping are basically the same thing, and yes, there are starting to suck. Thats another way you can put slumping/in trouble

I hate to say it as a Cards fan but I just don't think they're that great this year. The team chemistry isn't what it's been in the last few years. I don't know why they got Belliard and I don't know why they didn't keep Reggie Sanders and Mark Grudzalanek. (Sorry for probable misspellings) I still think they'll hold on to the division because it's really weak. If they made it to the series though I'm afraid that it would be as embarrassing as inter-league play was.

They are in trouble, your best shot was in '04 and the Red Sox took you behind the shed, they won't be getting back to the Series in a longgggggggggggggggggg time.

They will most likely make the playoffs , but that is it . They are always hurt . The closer is poor, but Larussa is great. When Cincinnati is banging on your door for the division you have some wholes.
