big can-o-worms, but individual children are not held accountable. Rather, it is the entire school, its teachers, administration and student body as a whole that is being tested. If you want federal money to continue coming to your school, it's in your best interest to do well. Do well and focus on your day to day work, you'll do fine on the standardized tests. More importantly, you'll be in a position to have more opportunities after you graduate because for you as an individual, grades in your classes do matter. (btw, the system is designed so that eventually all schools will fail to make adequate yearly progress.)

Key word: "Act"
It was just an act by this administration to get votes.

We chose to home school our kids because the school system in this country is still geared for the industrial revolution and not addressing our changing social and work culture.

Most kids are left behind.

i think of it rather is a ****-unfavorable thought with stable intentions. they say the line to He11(Yahoo would censor, even however i'm utilising a appropriate noun) is paved with stable intentions. There are some problems with it. First being that the faculties are coaching the attempt extremely of coaching the little ones and seeing if the attempt is working. So now youngsters are dropping out on substantial matters, to make beneficial they are in a position to pass a attempt. They lose out on matters that would activity them. They lose out on genuine expertise.

In NCLB it also places blame on teachers for failing to teach the "Slackers" so no i don't agree, wish this was in place when i went to school so i could have done no work, and still passed my classes.

No I do not!!! I firmly believe that those who work hard should be rewarded. That act is part of the reason our level of education overall in the USA is so low!
