yes i think that should at 65 and every 5 years after that.
when you age your eyes, ears and reflex's all change, causing you to lose vital senses that are required for healthy, safe driving.

HELL NO!!!. Why is that the older we get people think we can't drive very good. When most of the accidents in this country are caused by drivers under the age of 25. I don't think you should be able to get a drivers license until your at least 21. After all you can't buy alcohol until your 21.

I'm afraid I am going to seem agist, but getting closer every day, Yes. As we age our eyes get worse, as does our hearing. There are some who are very fortunate to have clear sight and hearing, alas, not the multitude. For safety sake testing should start much earlier than 65. In some states, driving should only be for the young!!!! LOL I would be the first in line to do the test and driving. With my luck I would get Zippy the Pinhead as the instructor!

Not a standard driving test but I think you may be onto something. Maybe an officer should ride a few blocks with them to see if they can still handle traffic. They should also have to get this test at least every 2 years. 65 is a little young though, let's make it 70.

It depends. There are many people at 65 that aren't any worse off than someone who is 45. There are many people at 65 that look and act like they're 85.

Unfortunately, since American culture is so sensitive to discrimination of any sort, you're not going to see any kind of law like that - no matter who the driver or how old they are.

No. sixty 5 isn't previous anymore. i'm 76 and my husband is 80 and neither persons has ever been in an twist of destiny. I study the newspaper each and every morning and maximum injuries seem brought about with the aid of inebriated drivers or children.

Yes. and every year after that. Ageing is hard on the body and can take effect on anything from concentration to vision. It's just a safety measure. My g-pa is 75 and doing great. I don't know if testing is mandatory here yet (Can.) but I hope it will be. I wouldn't want him hurting himself or anyone else, especially if it could have been averted.

Yes, or after they have had some major health issue (heart attack, stroke, seizures, etc.) How many accidents are occuring because elderly people are either pushing the "wrong pedal" or only think they are putting their vehicle in park. It would be safer not only for them but for everyone else on the road as well.

Yes because I cannot tell you how many times I almost got hit by an old man or woman forgetting that they are driving a car. Bless their hearts but its for the safety of the people!
