and I haven't heard back from the doc. I peeked at the x-ray when I was transporting them to my doc's office. I saw spots in what looked to be my lung area....so..do you have any ideas on what it could be other than the obvious, cancer?

I am an x-ray tech.......Chest x-rays show a lot of things. The darker areas are the air in your lungs. The lighter areas in the middle of the x-ray are your heart ans bronchial tubes. If there are any lighter spots in the lung area it could just be inflamation from bronchitis or pneumonia or something like that.........don't jump to the conclusion that it's cancer because there are a lot f things that show up that are benign findings.

Numerous small spots suggests tuberculosis, though obviously nobody can say without seeing the x-rays (and maybe not even then). Unfortunately it also goes with metastatic cancer. Under strange circumstances, it could be lung worm (Paragonimus westermani). Depending on the situation, it could also be bad film. I'd ask your doc to get the radiologists' interpretation before jumping to any conclusions.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably artifact. Leave the read up to the radiologist. Secondly, the films are given a once over before you leave, and if there was a suspicion of anything abnormal, additional films would have been taken.

I am not a Physician or Radiologist--I can't give you ans answer. One the worst things you can do is look @ medical records you do not comprehend. I never look @ my medical record. I wait for the physician to call and give me the results. if you are going to do your own diagnosis. Why go to the Doctor?
One thing for sure if you are going to worry you will soon need a Psychiatrist--they charge $70.00 an hour to sit on their couch.

My mother has these, the dr said they could have been from when she was small as a child and had a really bad bronchitis or something like that attack that left them there... of course they did other tests to make sure.. I hope it is nothing in your case either...

It could be your lung. Bronchi show up on a lung x-ray. It could also be an artifact -- jewelry, or something . . . don't freak out -- just be patient and wait to see what your doctor says.
