Some guy is asking me to smile, he's not even putting in the effort like telling a joke or doing something silly.

You should try. Psychology studies have shown that some emotions are directly linked to facial expressions. That's why fake smiles look so fake. However, even fake smiling will promote feeling happy, and eventually that fake smile can turn to a real one. So try it. It's not like anyone's around to laugh at you.

Whoever you are, you have a whole life to live. It's better to smile your way through than to frown. Develop the good habit of smiling. If someone is trying to get you to smile, they are doing you a favor.

Depends who it is... if he is my friend i would smile a bit... but not as much as I would if he was acting like a friend you know making jokes, or being silly....
.....If he is a stranger, I would probably walk away slowly smiling nervously and then run....
.... if he is my crush I would probably not smile because he would try his best to make you smile and probably ask you out!!...
.....That's what i would do......

I hate it when people tell me to smile, especially if I'm having a bad day. I just want them to mind their own business and let me live in cranky land for a while.
