I have kind of bad allergies, and the doctor has seen my throat before but I don't know if he is any good because he usually doesn't look at my throat when I see him for allergies. I have had the bumps for years. They are not small, and they are red...I don't know if it's my allergies, if its normal, or if its time for a new doc. Thanks. I am not looking for a diagnosis, just is this normal? It is a tad bit sore, but this has been happening for years and dr. never said anything.

It is definitely not an STD, but thank you for that idea.

I think it's time you went to an ear, nose, and throat doctor. You definitely need a second opinion. Don't be afraid or intimidated by any doctor. It's your body and you have the right to tell the doctor about your throat and demand that he look at it.

Kind of sounds like irritation, when people have allergies on there skin they tend to get little red bumps (hives). I suggest seeing an ENT (ear nose and throat) not all doctors know what to look for. More then likely it is post nasal drip and once put on a decent anihistimien that would probably take the symptoms away. The better question is are you running a fever? If you have had them before, did they go away or have they always been there. Did you mention to the doctor when he/she evaluated you. My suggestion is if you are concerned see a doctor trained in that area. Good luck!

well, i don't think it's normal because my niece and nephew have allergies but they got no red bumps in their throats and i also don't know anyone with red bumps in the throat. i think u should tell your doc about it. if he doesn't do anything about it then go to another doctor. it could be serious...u never know (std for example) not trying to scare u...just get it checked up and u will find out. i can't tell u what it is cuz i have no clue...
good luck

It sounds somewhat like strep. When you go to the Doctor. Make a list of everything wrong with you and check each one off as your discuss and resolve it. Doctors are educated not mind readers. He has to hear your problems so he can put together the symptoms for a diagnosis. Good luck in resolving the problem.

First what do you mean by red bumps and how many are there? Are they 2 large bumps at the far end? If so they could just be tonsils (provided you havent been operated for them). If they arent tonsils then please consult a physician or ENT and do let him know where the bumps are.

Yeah, I really dont think that is normal, you might want to get that checked out by a different doctor then you are going to, he could give you a better opinion.

Not normal if it was not there before and the majority of the population does not have them. Ask your doctor what the heck it is-it is ok to ask them questions-they know you came to them for the answers. OK. Good luck!
