This is an extension of a quiz I made here - http://www.youthink.com/quiz.asp?action=take&quiz_id=1700

Basically, please post your responses and reasoning to the following questions:

1. Do you support the death penalty in general?

2. Should the government increase funding to orphanages?

3. Should the government provide free (i.e. 100% subsidised) contraception and neutering operations?

4. Each whole blood donation can save up to three lives. Should blood donations be compulsory for all eligible donors?

5. Do you believe that people have the right to refuse treatment, even if such refusal would result in their death?

6. Do you support assisted siucide for the terminally and chronically ill?

7. Do you support abortion for any reason in the first three months of pregnancy?

8. Do you support full government funding for all pregnancy-related expenses, regardless of the woman or couple`s financial status?

And that's all the space I have here.

You ask good questions here, because I often wonder how people can be pro death penalty but anti abortion and vice versa.

1. No I don't support it at all because I don't think humans should have the right to take life unless it is to save more lives as a result. Yes a convict could escape but that's pretty rare. Not to mention it's economically cheaper to put them in prison for life.

-For a pretty much irrefutable example of someone innocent on death row please visit www.wm3.org.

2. I can't answer this because I don't know about the specific funding for orphanages. But I think they are for the most part a thing of the past, aside from some temporary group home placement. I believe most children live in foster care if they don't have a guardian.

3. The government should provide free contraception and neutering options to those who can prove they cannot afford it.

4. I am not aware of anyone dying because of a blood shortage. If that were the case, then I'd say that people should have to be forced to donate.

5. Yes I think people should be able to refuse treatment for themselves if they are adults. Treatment for disease is very complicated and isn't always a life or death matter. They shouldn't be able to refuse treatment for children in life or death matters.

6. I do not support assisted suicide because I think it may lead to murders covered up as assisted suicides. Plus it is too difficult to prove that a terminally ill person is in a good enough state of mind to make that decision for themselves. Not to mention there are numerous cases of people who recover from diseases that were told they were certain to die. Our society is too concerned with eliminating those who are inconvenient. This would just increase that sort of thing.

7. I only support abortion if without it the mother and child's death was imminent and could be prevented by an abortion.

8. The government should only pay for pregnancy related expenses if the parent(s) can prove they cannot afford it. From what I understand that is pretty much the case right now in the US.
