World war 3 at the doorstep?

Question

The US is backing Israel and Hezbollah backed by Iran thats backed by Russia.Are we all sure the cold war is over?

If Iran was to nuke Israel - Iran wouldn't be long for the world but wouldn't that leave Russia China and the US toe to toe?

Or would the war of the pawns just shift to North Korea where the US and China could play chess as them as the focal point.

I find it very hard to believe that Iran, North Korea and Venezualla between them can't come up with somthing invented 60 years ago.

I think the biggest thing stopping Israel and anyone else in the region from using nukes is that the region os so small it would take you out with the enemy even if you were the only one to fire.

Experts are predicting a nuclear bomb will be detonated in the US (29-50% chance) over the next 5 years - what would US reaction be ............would they investigate before retaliation ? Or would they just pull ut a list of all governments they consider unfriendly and say all of-em

Iran signed a military defense contrat with Russia in Dec. of 05 worth 1 billion dollars and has a direst oil pipline (cost of multiple billions to build) from Iran into Russia.

Yes they are "friends" and as to the nuke thing I am talking about (what experts predict) a nuclear or dirty bomb being set off by terrorists within the US - Hw would you know which country did it or would it even matter .

we haven't needed oil to run a combustion engine in a very long time - I would not recomend you take on the oil companies on this though - They own the pattens for most to all of the alternatives

Good Question. If Iran nuked Israel the whole world would come down on Iran. Russia and China would immediately denounce the regime and there would be a massive attack of one kind or another, but not necessarily nuclear. Neither the US and China like North Korea, but North Korea does keep the attention off of China and their human rights records. North Korea, I believe, already have a nuclear weapon but who knows with Kim Jong Il. If the US was attacked by a nuclear bomb and it was a terrorist group they would probably handle the situation the same way they handled Afghanistan. They would offer an ultimatum to turn over the terrorists and if the country didn't they might retaliate with nuclear weapons, depending who was in charge. As for Israel they do not officially have nuclear weapons. Officially just means they have never tested one.

The immediate danger is not from Russia and China. The second richest man in America, Warren Buffet, puts the threat of nuclear technology falling into the hands of non-state actors as the most important issue facing the world. All of this that you see is just the global competition for an important resource. I don't recall the exact numbers but the United States military is about eight times larger than the next top five or so put together. True, if they would all marshall their forces they would be larger, but as I said, the immediate danger is the technology in the wrong hands.

Russia hasn't been allied to Iran in years. Even if tthey were we have nothing to fear from them. Russian is only a rotten and hollw shell of the military super power that it once was. As for China they are not near as powerful as us and won't be for some time. Also no country would dare use a nuclear weapon against the U.S. That would be suicide. The U.S is the only remaining country that has the ability to completely destroy an entire country. If someone does use a nuclear weapon on us we will not have to worry about them for very much longer after they nuke us.

Btw, Iran does not have nuclear weapons so that scenario is impossible.

The reason Israel and the USA both do not use nukes is that nuclear weapons leave the area uninhabitable for at least 10 years. That means they can not get to the oil which means a huge decline in oil production = bombing economies.

when the USA's "friend" Putin was "elected" to office I said then that he would be trouble. he was former KGB. does anyone really think that he had changed? since he's been in power, Russia has really gone backwards. looks to me like they're headed right back to communism
