For the last few months I've been experiencing symptoms of CFS. Medical literature suggests a depressing prognosis. I've also read that there are some experimental medications which seem to be showing some promise. Does anyone out there with CFS have any experiences with those meds?

I am wondering if you have ever had a sleep study done on you, because if you suffer from OSA ( Obstructive sleep apnea) you may not be getting the proper amount of sleep you require. This lack of sleep will also mimic CFS. IMHO, I think that you should have a complete medical workup before you start using medication for this, and to follow your physicians orders.

I've had CFS for about 13 years now.
I am MUCH better than I was before, when I was first diagnosed.
I do take Cymbalta for that and my fibromyalgia and it does seem to help.
What helped more was eliminating foods from my diet that I react badly to, like wheat (you can do an elimination diet to find out your triggers). That and getting lots of sleep, napping when I needed to and recognizing when my body was having a down turn and taking care of yourself.
Oh and Vitamin B complex is my best friend-- lol.

Take good care-- you can do it, just be determined.

The CFS hit me right after college. It was not easy and the doctors said it was due to my relaxed mentality after leaving the Vietnam war and joining a different kind of reality.

Go on a living and raw foods diet. It works. Here is a great website for starters. http://www.living-foods.com/

The reason so many Americans are experiencing this disease is because of diet. Then to compromise diet, people just take pills. The foods we eat are what heals us and stabilizes us. And that is the truth. I hope everything turns out well for you!
