I love the Young and the Restless. Yes I heard that John dies too. I haven't heard anything else. I wish that all this stuff that is going on with Sharon would make her and Nick go back together. I hope Danny and Lily get back together too although I don't like the Lily that is on there now and Boy is she a cry baby. She runs to her Mama and Daddy for everything and I can't stand Neil or Dru.

His character dies ... but he will still be on the show as an apparition about 50 times per year. Thats what the insider talk is. It will be similar to HBO's Six Feet Under characters interaction with their dead father.
If done correctly this may be a moving and integral part of storylines.

His contract on Y& R is up. I just watched it and he is having a heart attack and that will be the end of John Abbott. And Gloria is gonna have hell to pay now... I love Y & R my all time fav have watched from day 1
