my first bartending job i got by wearing a club type outfit, second wearing jeans, this last one i got wearing a suit. whats the norm for what to wear while looking for a bartending job?

If you have the body, a pair of well fitted jeans and a nice shirt that shows off your boobs some. A push up bra would work wonders. I am not saying slutty, but some cleavage would work, trust me. I don't care what some people say, but SEX sells. I got a carsale person position by showing some cleavage and got the job. And at the time we were training the trainer went around the class explaining what it was that made him hire us, well he told the group why he had hired me. He said he had a hard time looking at my eyes and not at my chest ( I am surprised he said that). My point being, if you have some what of a personality and some boobs and it is a male that will be interviewing you.. you got the job. Good luck!

Even though its just a bartending job, I think you should go business casual. It is always better to over dress than underdress. Dressing up as opposed to the other people not dressing up at all will make you memorable as well as a professional looking candidate.

Khaki pants and a white shirt is always appropriate (and make sure they are ironed). People always judge you by the shoes and watch you wear also. Most important for getting the job is an outgoing personality and a genuine interest in people.

Dress for the job...In upscale bars or upscale restaurants with bars, you would want to show class. If you're going for a bikini bar, dress sexy. Somewhere in between...business casual.
