mva.net is a smallish ISP based in Haverhill, MA whose service is quilt reliable, and whose Email addresses (name@MVA.NET) are short, so they are easy to remember and type.
http://www.mva.net/, 1-800-GET-MVA1. They are easy to do business with by phone.
You can get a dial-up account with them fairly cheaply (there is a discount for teachers and firefighters), and it comes with Email.
