Ferret rescues are really common. Do a search for one in your area. You could also leave your name and number with your local shelters.

Why cheap? If you cannot afford to get one you won't be able to afford to keep it the way it's supposed to be kept. They need regular vet visits, especially when they get older and a lot of them need at least one surgery in their life time.
You need good quality ferret food and good litter, not the clumpy stuff at Walmart. Appropriate furnishings for a large cage and toys and treats too.
Are you willing to spend 3-4 hrs a day with your ferret?
Please, do not get one. It's never a good idea to get a pet on impulse. That's why we have so many sitting in rescues.
BTW, CHASS does not know what she's talking about. The more you bathe a ferret the worse it smells. Do not bathe them more than once a month. It strips the oils from the ferrets coat and makes them itchy, therefore the oil glands go into overdrive making the ferret smellier all the sooner. Just keep their bedding and hammocks clean, wash their cage, incl. their litter box, out once a week and scoop their potties at least twice a day.

First I'd like to ask why you would choose a feret as a pet? Second, no animal is going to be "cheap" in the long run. They need food, a cage (or some safe enclosure). All animals require shots, and regular vet visits. As well as company and interaction from their owners.
There is also the matter of knowing what you are getting into before you decide on a feret - or any animal for that matter. When getting their first shots, be sure to tell the vet about reactions. Mine almost died after a rabies shot. Ferets are extremely delicate creatures. They will not smell at all if they have already had their scent glands removed. They use a litter box which is easy enough to keep clean. There will be no smell from that either if it is cleaned at least once a day.
Before you worry about how much the feret in and of itself costs, Read up on what kind of care the animal needs and please be sure this is really what you want before you bring it home.

Yes ferrets do smell but i know a solution to that!

Bathing 1x weekly or 1x every-other-week & There is a odorless, tasteless, clear stuff you can put in the water for a few weeks (until you run out basically if you do it right) called Bi-Odor!

You start at a low dose of 1/2 to 1 squart and no more than 3 squarts maximum. Just start low & continue with that dosage for a week or two.. if the smell doesn't get better up the dosage (VERY SLIGHTLY)!

Ferrets are awsome creatures!

If you are looking for cheap then you will get no papers proving your ownership of the ferret.. In that case, you can get cheap ferrets in ROME, GEORGIA (USA).

BTW: it would be easier for ppl to tell you where to find a cheap ferret if we new the location of which you are willing to travel :0) instead of giving a map of the world & saying go for it! lol

GOOD LUCK & ENJOY YOUR NEW FERRET

Please, ferrets are very expensive animals and I'm not just talking about the cost of buying a ferret. You have to have a large cage, litter boxes, litter, high quality food, food and water bowls, toys, nail clippers, styptic powder, ear cleaner, dental paste, lots of hammocks and places to sleep, pet safe cleaner, ferret lax (for when they shed or eat something they shouldn't), treats, ferritone, ingredients for duck soup, and the list goes on!
You are going to end up spending at least $300 on the start up costs! And you should have $500 per ferret saved in case of a medical emergency. Plus they need their rabies and distemper vaccination. Then you will continually be purchasing food, litter, and replacing toys. Ferrets are NOT cheap animals!

You can try a local pet store- that has a legal selling permit, or check your local newspaper listings. Like the Classifieds, they have a pet section, and sometimes people will sell their pets with updated medical and with the cage etc- saves alot of money. if you are in question- have a vet check it out before you purchase it. Still no luck? Perhaps putting a "wanted" add in the paper- explaining what you are looking for. Include your phone number or e-mail, you would be suprised to see how many people read those and would contact you. Otherwise check with neighbors and friends who might have/no someone who has one.
Good Luck!
Hope I Helped!

Agree totally with Huh?. Keeping a ferret is expensive, so if you can't afford to purchase price of one, you can't afford its equipment or veterinary care. Other than that, I would suggest a shelter to adopt one, I think the cost there is usually less than the pet stores charge.

Why do you want one thats cheap??.. anyway see if there is a SAFE by you. Its an organization that saves ferrets and then finds good homes for them. I adopted one of mine from there.

Why do you want the ferret to be cheap?

Before I tell you where to buy it, I'd suggest you look online for places where you can adopt them. I don't know how familiar you're with ferrets but I know many people buy them & then give them away. I myself gave mine up for adoption because I turned out to be allergic to their poop.

If you still want to buy one... Pet Supermarket seems to have the best price. Don't know if you have one close though.
