we could spend it on our own country. the amount of money that goes into that war could feed everyone in america, and give them decent health care. you have to improve yourself before you start trying to improve others...

oh and to that chuck guy IM NOT SAYING NOT TO SPEND MONEY ON THE WAR. but what is the countries first priority.. taking care of itself... why work hard to defend a country when citizens are struggling because you take from them.. as much cash as our government throws out, we could easily finance war, health, food, research, and much more... we spend billions more than other countries who can take care of themselves.. any counrty that would aim a missle our direction, can barely spend what we could blow on one missle alone... and besides, that is part of the goverments control, fear... fear we are always under attack. if we didnt blindly attack others.. we wouldn't have to worry much to begin with.

i am someone that thinks a lot about these things, and it inspires me to find out so many people agree.. if i could give most people on here best answer, i would. ive just seen to many rednecks and baby boomers who want to " blow them damn iraqis up, kill em' all.." its not as disappointing when you see people who want to do good... but i believe people will begin to see... eventually. we may have to suffer some really hard times... but the truth will dawn on us soon. days or years... and that is what a revolution is.. when few people realize what is happening and want to take a stand.. even though most people disagree, then sometime later.. everyone realizes those few were right, in the end...
sorry i get carried away.... if the american people could band together and make some changes theirselves, it'd be great..
also if someone has a political website where they have discussions in chatrooms and forums, that would be great to..i'd love to join.

oh- and to that nickless guy. according to the last census the u.s. has a population around 290,421,906, and i didn't say anything about what we give to other countries. with as much as we spend, if we properly managed our money, we could help ourselves better, help them, and protect ourselves.. but usually the more money our gov't spends, the less planning and the more throwing it around..

i have seen many people turned away for healthcare, and the bills people pay if they don't have it are rediculous.. besides, most health care isn't great... you have it and they still try to make you pay all of these fees. healthcare is a ripoff. and have you ever researched health care in canada..? you should.. i would love to be able to choose one of their health care plans.. i also think work ethics here are rediculous.. not that this deals with the rest of my ranting.. in many european countries, whether you work at mcdonalds or you are a computer engineer... you get 4 to 6 weeks of paid vacation...

here we go. there's people answering it's about the "gasoline" . if this was all about getting Iraqs oil, why is the price of gas the highest ever. for one I wish we were doing it for the oil. I say we take all of their oil and make gas cheaper. and for another thing I'd rather spend billions there instead of some terrorist trying to kill me here. and the healthcare, I've been in the medical field as a medic since '98 and have never seen anyone turned away. have you ever seen anyone turned away? I highly doubt it.

But we are spending money on our own country by being in Iraq! The United Nations didn't recant its resolutions against Saddam. The US simply did what no one else dared to do -- stand up to an evil person that flouted his own terms of surrender.

I agree with you that instead of spending billion on Iraq, USA could spend it on itself. If it starts happening then the muslims world will get more wealthy then USA. To let muslims pass their lives in poverty, slavery, fear, disunity and many more USA shall have to continue spending more billions not only on Iraq but also on Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Algeria and many more muslim countries. USA never cares about reaction of all these doing

Thats exactly what we should be spending our money on. Fighting this "war" is Iraq isn't preventing terrorism it is just making it much worse. If we had a decent leader that is exactly what we would be doing with our money.

Also, everyone give this question a thumbs up, we need more like them.

Hmmmmmmmm politics politics. If you only knew how much money the government gives many countries each year in allowance you'd have asked the question years ago. Do a little research and you'll find out how many children the US has.

yep yep

But if not our own country, send it to Uganda or Sudan where there are much more problems like genocide, AIDS and starvation, instead of just causing more destruction out of pure greed with a pointless war.
