I'm pregnant with twins and been gettin BHC since I was 18 weeks. They shouldn't hurt, just a tightening in your uterus. BHC come and go when they want. If you were in real labor, they contractions would eventually become stronger (more painful) and closer together. My doctor told me to drink a full glass of water and lay down for an hour on my left side- if they don't go away and I count more than 4-6 within an hour to give them a call. Good Luck and Congrats.

Some women like to sit down or lie down and rest when they have Braxton-Hicks contractions, especially towards the end of pregnancy because they increase in frequency and can start to become annoying and even painful.
You can also treat this as a chance to practice labor techniques so you could walk around or do some breathing.
Sometimes I take a hot shower and just let the water run over my back or belly to relax. Or I just sit back on the couch and concentrate on the sensation and think about labor and the baby I'll be meeting in a matter of weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Get a good book on pregnancy. The What To Expect series is really good. Braxton Hicks can be quite strong, but generally are not evenly spaced like 5 minutes apart or whatever. But since you are 30 weeks along, and hubby is worried, why not call the doc to be safe.

Breathe, walk, change positions, get on your hands and knees and rock....
So far I've used all of these to ease my contractions. I'm at 36 weeks and have had Braxton Hicks for about 3 days now. Just relax and shift around, they should ease up when you change positions.
Warm baths, massage, and just plain relaxing helps also :)
Best of luck!!!

it is a good time to practice breathing and relaxing...do you have a pregnancy book? Have your hubby read the section on braxton-hicks contractions.
Trust me (2 kids later) you and your hubby will know when the real ones start happening.
OR let him take you to the hospital just so he can get the "official" diagnosis =).
Good Luck!

I just relax, and breathe. Lay back. Treat it like real contractions. Except real contractions will be more consistent and start coming closer to together and not farther apart like those do.

Have your honey read about them so he knows they are totally normal and really have nothing to do with labor. If they bug you, lie down and they should go away. If they don't bug you, just go about your regular routine. If Honey still worries, just don't tell him. They shouldn't be painful, just tight. Is 10 weeks to go to early to have them?
