Follow the instructions that came with it very carefully. And don't install one on a vehicle that came with a factory installed alarm; that's a job for an expert only!

Not trying to be funny here, but, the fact that you are asking the question indicates you should have someone else do it. You might watch and assist so you may do it another time. But, let someone else do it.
