He is more successful than most of us ever will be. How unintelligent do you really think he is? He speaks for the most powerful country there is and you call him unintelligent. What have you done that makes you so much smarter than him?

That one is simple you get the big corporations to get behind you for president such as the big oil companies and the drug companies and you promise the rich a lot of return for the campaign contributions.

He was born an American, ran for office, and through the electoral process (i.e. the American public votes and those votes go to the electoral college, where those representatives cast their votes) he was voted in as president.
I'm sure you're looking for another answer (it could be read as a rhetorical question I suppose), but there's the most non-biased answer I can think of.
