I was a bit surprised. We were at a red light, he couldn't wait until we got to the restaurant.
I said "No", he said "OK, here it goes..(out the window)......I grabbed him and said "Give me that, it's mine!".....LOL
We were only together 3 weeks when he proposed. Unfortunately he passed away 3 days after our 15th wedding anniversary.

Ok, this wasn't my proposal but it was a friends. Her boyfriend contacted me and a few other friends to help him propose. My friend is a planner, heavy on having all the details laid out and documented. He had three of us help him develop a wedding planning book with dresses, cakes, locations, everything specified to her tastes. Then while we were at a conference he asked if they could sleep in and have room service at the hotel. He presented the planning guide and the ring with breakfast. It was so perfect for her and she was totally surprised.

The facts: When we first met, his ex was on the run with the 2 kids. While we where dating he got full custody and she took off. We where a family already.
The scene: I woke up on a Saturday to an empty house. Shortly after, my daughter who was 3 at the time, comes running in and yells, "Mommy, daddy bought you flowers and ring cause he wants to marry you."
Moral of the story: You cannot bribe a 3 year old into silence.

We were getting ready for New years. He asked me how he looked and as I turned around he got on one knee and proposed to me. I built him up and said I thought it was sweet. I couldnt help but be jealous of his friends that flew their girlfiends overseas to propose. It doesnt have to be expensive like that, but dont say yes unless it has alot of thought in it. It is only the beginnig what will he be like later???

We had been dating for 3 years and living together for 2 years. It was Valentine's Day and he had a special dinner etc all planned.
Our house flooded...time ran out for the day....we missed dinner and everything...
He took me to this beautiful private bench overlooking a river and looked me in the eyes and told me how much he loved me.
How much he wanted to marry me...and then he gave me a 2 carat solitaire.
Wow.

I don't think he ever did propose. He just mentioned us getting married one day when we were casually talking about our future. I was like, "Oh we are going to get married." And he said, "Yeah, in about a year." And we did.

Oh, it was so romantic and special...he said, "So whadda ya think, huh...get married". You would have thought that would have been a HUGE warning bell....guess it wasn't loud enough. Ended up marrying him.
