my mom would remind me of shots, and when i got mad at her she said that if she died in her sleep i would be sorry because i didnt love her when i went to bed, it always worked.

No and that is terrible. The doctor and dentist should be postive experiences. There is no reason a child should be make do fear them even more than they already do.

my mother never threatened to take me to the doctor or dentist . . . but she always threatened to "shove" me back where I came from.
After I turned about 12 years old, I realized it'd probably hurt her much more than it'd hurt me.
