It seems people are genuinely attracted to unnatural things. Makeup makes even young, healthy faces look more sexually appealing. Men are often attracted to women who are actually unhealthy because they are underweight. People are often sexually satisfied by acts that truly serve no procreational purpose.

I suppose if the answer is yes, the question becomes, "How is it that the human species evolved to be attracted to unnatural things?" From a biological standpoint, it doesn't add up. Help me understand!

Well, I think the reason we do this is evolutionary in itself.

I'm basing this on research on Bonobos (pygmy chimpanzees) which also indulge in recreational sex (such as masturbation, oral sex etc) which serves no reproductive purpose (normal chimps don't).

In bonobos it would appear that sex has evolved into a mechanism for social interaction within society. This is rather mirrored in humans as well, and indeed bonobos are our nearest biological relatives (their DNA is more similar to ours than a chimp's is).

So for humans during our recent evolution sexual behaviour must have recruited new neural circuitry beyond that which purely controls reproductive urges. And because this circuitry must be integrated into the rest of the highly developed parts of the human brain which control emotion and social interaction, it becomes quite easy to imagine how the evolutionary origins of sex for procreation alone could become "corrupted"...

Hope that answers your question.

The human sex drive is not flawed.
You state that people are "genuinely attracted to unnatural things". This is true, but it is because we (humans) make the unnatural things. Plus, if you notice, the unnatural things mimic real (natural things)...
Make-up enhances the look of individuals. However, it is enhancing it to look like something that is NATURALLY attractive. It is just making it look more attractive than it actually is, but it is still mimicing nature.
Underweight is a little bit more tricky because it is confounded by society. If you notice through the ages (look at a Renaissance painting), the "ideal" woman has been getting skinnier and skinnier. This is no doubt created partly by society. However, I suspect it also mimics nature as well. Too much weight is as unhealthy as too little weight, keep in mind. Plus, a skinny woman lets you see her curves, which is natural; it's not "hidden" under fat.
Humans have moved beyond having sex for procreational means only. This is partly because of our advanced culture (inventing contraceptives, etc.). It is also partly through our own biological abilities (ability to communicate, bigger brains, etc.).
So, no, the sex drive is not flawed. The unnatural things are still mimicing real, attractive things. The only time you could truly call a sex drive flawed is when it actually prevents the species from reproducing entirely. We haven't reached that point yet.
I hope I've cleared things up. Even partly.

Humans, all them, in every varying way, are flawed, but in thier mindset wish to accomplish perfection and at the same time know it is impossible. Some are attracted to the unnatural things because it makes them feel better about themselves and slightly closer to perfection. Also, those doing the unnatural, it is to thier bodies, for the body is what humans instinctivley look at first for perfection. Then, they become severely bipolar so they can modify thier personnality to what each indevidual they are with at the moment thinks of as perfect.

That's because some sexual drivers are biological but mental. fetishes usually root from a past experience or sexual associations to the stimuli.

Make up on girls is actually instinctive. It's natural for a human's lips to become red and swell when sexually stimulated.

Under weight girls is mostly a social stigma. No one dates the fat girl.

EIther way none of these would be a sexual faulter. If it gets you off then your sexual driver was successful..

Although I wouldnt recommend asfixiation

The question is the answer, and the question is do we believe in God? If we believe in God we will find that there has always been a battle over sexual desires. The way I have settled this in my own mind is that I am going to chose to believe in the Creator. I also chose to believe in the fact that Christ made a way for me to escape the effect of sexual desires. Through His perfection, I realize that I will not ever be perfect. This does not mean that I do not strive to be true to my wife. To me perfect sex is through the blessings of two people happily married to each other that put the desires of the other person first.

People are molded by the media and other unnatural things. There are lots of folk, both male and female that are governed by "real" sexual impulses. I've heard it said that men are attracted to women that appear to be fertile- Women are attracted to men that appear to be "strong" or virile. Modern society has perhaps a new outlook or "twist" on this "Utopian" image of the perfect mate. Ideally, men and women are sexually attracted to what we have been taught to believe is "sexy".

Sexual drive, like all things human, fall under the purview and influence of personal likes, dislikes, obsessions, and fixations. As such, these drives (sexual) get all mixed up with other needs, fantasies and agenda, and emerge as something completely unique to human beings. Who can say what is normal, and what isn't, seeing as most people sexual practice fall outside any text book explanation of what 'normal' is.

OH it is definetly flawed, your sexual drive is supposed to be driven by your passion towards another person, (your soul Mate) not a veggie, not an xfilm, not the most unnatural thing you can do to your body. Just pure love wanting to bond as close as you can with the one you love.

Its not that humans are attracted to unnatural things, it's that we are taught through the underlying social structure to like the things that we like.
