most spark plugs are all the same until you get into the real high end ones like the platinum ones and the super high end ones like the iridium ones.I recommend consulting your owners manual or a shop manual for what is recommended.Most newer vehicles require platinum spark plugs but even in platinum spark plugs you have a large selection of types from single ground electrodes to four (4) ground electrodes and the corresponding increase in price,the iridium ones are overkill for most vehicles but if you want to pay the price average $12.00 a spark plug those are the very very best you can buy.

Heaps of reasons. Different plugs has different "settings" or characteristics. Some operate better at certain temperatures than others, some conduct electricity better than others and so they give you a better spark etc. Find out the plug that is recommended for your engine and then pick a good brand name that has that spec.

I agree with subman stick with oem. I have seen new GM trucks run bad if you do not use ac delco plugs.

it is really vehicle specific. like fords only run good with motorcraft of autolites, and run horrible with champions or bosch(even the platinums). not sure about other make i just ussually stick OEM.
