I have chickens.
I have a a few buff orpingtons
several bearded araucanas
and several bantams
1 red rooster
1 araucana rooster name "Big Head"
1 bantam rooster
1 araucana rooster (not full grown) "Son of Big Head"
*plus three white geese,
2 guineas
and probably 8 or so ducks
one bearded auracana has three baby chicks,
one bantam has one chick
I have one setting in the hen house,
one setting in my husbands shop
and one setting on the back porch behind the freezer.
We love animals !

Yes I do! I enjoy them very much. Down to 3 old hens with 3 babies and 2 roosters in the old flock and I just built a new coop with 13 chickens in their my neighbor gave me that are about 3 months old by now. And... I have one baby one living in the house! I know it's crazy but It's mom died of a disease and I don't want it mixing with the other birds and I doubt the other mother hen would have tooken it in even though it is a possibility but I didn't want it to freeze to death in the meantime so there it is I have a chicken in the dining room under a heat lamp and I am it's new mommy. I actually put an old jacket on yesterday and had it perched on my shoulder for a little while but it got real smelly and gross in no time so we'll have to keep our get togethers one on one time to the backyard.
Oh and I have a couple of roasters in the freezer also that I grew myself this past spring from meat birds and that was great. Had a seriously farm made dinner the other day!

Not anymore.. I used to have about 400 chickens and loved to tend to chickens.

I use to have a pet chicken. She was a Rhode Island Red named Sissy. Found her snake hunting on a hill.

Well I dont but 2 of my friends do and they are cool but stink I have never wanted one but they are nice. So if you have chickens keep em'.

My mom always had chickens. I don't understand her love for them. I'm more of a mammal person, myself.
