Why can't people accept the fact that they die? It's so simple to end a person's life...and everyone seems confident about it...when they are in hiding. It's sickening.

People have so many different beliefs. I think your personal belief system makes the biggest difference in how you feel about death. Personally, I'm a christian. So, i believe that I am living a life of purpose and a life that is worth so much because of Christ's sacrifice for me. The least I can do while I'm here on this earth is to honor Him by making my thoughts, my body, and my actions a living sacrifice to Him- the best I can . Then, I don't have to be afraid of death. For myself, I don't even look at it as death, it's transition. And it's a blessing to be absent form the body and present with the Lord--when it's you time.

People don't know for sure what happens when they die. A lot of people say they will go to heaven, but how can they be so sure with all those beliefs floating around out there? They may believe they're going to hell. That would give anyone incentive not to die. Yet still others believe that they will simply wink out of existence. Once someone dies they don't come back, so there's no changing what happens if you don't like the outcome. That is why people are afraid of death. I myself am one of those who believes in the winking out of existence thing. I don't look at death as terrible because I don't think I'll be around afterwards to care about it. DYING on the other hand is a whole other story...

Society projects death in a -ve sense. So since childhood one learns to fear death. As one matures he may understand otherwise but what he learnt as a child remains embedded in his subconcious mind. At old age or during severe illness one's mental strength diminishes his concious understanding is overtaken by the deep embedded fear and sadness. So a dying person needs constant reminder of the lovely work he has done during his life.. what a fine person he has been... a fulfilled sucessful life.
Ending someone's life is sickening itself..there are no two thoughts about it!

I think that it just flat out scares the hell out of them!!
Me, on the other hand, I know that it is going to happen sooner than I want it to,(due to health problems). But I have tried to prepare my family for that day. By not being afraid
When it happens it will happen, and it's ok.
Just promise me no funerals and have a party!!
Celebrate don't cry!!

Some people like their current lives a lot, and don't like change. Nobody knows what happens or "where you go" when you die, so maybe they have a point?

I think a lot of people are afraid of what they don't know.

It's not natural for us to die. God didn't create us for death, He created us for life. He wants us to live life to our fullest. That is why even those who's eternity is with Him cling to life.
I know that I do not want to die, even though I KNOW where I will be in a split second - Heaven.
