60 x 4 = 240 dogs
There is a total of 3840 animals.

If it's only the 25 dogs that bring 60 cats & 4 dogs each, then the answer is 25 X 64 = 1600 plus the 45 dogs and 25 cats = 1670 animals.
If the 45 cats also bring 60 cats & 4 dogs each then the answer would be, 45 X 64 = 2880 plus 1670 = 4550 animals.

If only the 25 dogs which the cats invited brings 60 dogs and 4 cats each My answer is 1600 + the 45 cats who invited the dogs = 1645.
But if the 45 cats and the 25 dogs invited 60 cats and 4 dogs each, my answer is 70 x 64 = 4480 .Whoooooooo a very noisy party.......

"they bring 60 cats and 4 dogs each" who are They? Could refer to the cats doing the inviting or the dogs who foolishly accepted the invite, in which case why on earth would they want to bring more cats!?!
"how many animals are there? " How many animals are there where? in the world? at the party? And do you mean individual animals or types of animal (in which case the answer is 2, cats and dogs)

45 CATS plus 25 DOGS is 70
and you have 25 dogs bringing 60 cats and 4 dogs each that now becomes 64 so 64 x 25 = 1600 + 70 = 1670
