Too much is not enough to deter smoking - In Australia it's about 8-10 aus bux per pack but that's 'only' 6.5-7.5 US bux! While others have quit or changed to rolling their own, I merely cut my consumption from 20 to 10 smokes per day! Your $38+ is only about half of the prices here in Australia @ under 4 bux a pack! In the good ole USA there are many discount stores run by 'native' organizations where I was getting cartons for $20! (2004) Oh well, must be smoke break time...tanx for the question & my 2pts!

N.C. they cost around $5 per pack for marlboro or newport and in some stores you can get the nasty brands for $15 per carton but where i live is one of the major growers of tobacco

two years ago when I gave up smoking a carton of 200 ciggys cost AU$68.oo and that wasnt enough to cover the week u had to buy extra packets at AU$15 per pkt not wworth while giving the government all those taxes so I quit after 39 years of smoking

Don't know. Don't smoke. Now I'm really glad I don't.
By the way... I live in CT, where you're allowed to smoke at any age. You just can't buy cigarettes until you're 21.
