This is not meant to be funny, this is a real question. I heard this from someone, and I am wondering if this was true - and if so, why toilet paper isn't used. Also, do Muslims in the US do the same? Or is this solely back in their country? Please explain.

Yes, it is true. However, they do put a pc of toilet paper on the hand before they do wipe. Muslims are some of the cleanest people around. They pray 5-1000.....per day, and every time they must wash there feet before so. How about your feet?

Islam is a religion. Arabs of any faith are originally from the cradle of civilization and they used to wipe with the left and greet (i.e. handshake) with the right. The left hand is still considered "unclean" in some circles, but they use TP like the rest of us now. By the way, TP wasnt even invented till 100 years ago... that leaves 6000 years of humans of all races that used their hands.

My understanding is use right hand to eat & shake hands. Left hand for personal care in general. But certainly not to directly wipe, NO.

i have never heard that. i am married to one, he uses t.p. everytime & so does his family back home.
this probably is not true, for the fact that most in Muslim countries also eat w/ their hands(no utensils). this would be considered unclean to them. they also must wash certain parts of the body before their prayers.

EWWWWWWW...no they don't...nobody does...we wash wit water first then we wipe with toilet paper...

actually it isn't allowed for us to wipe wit our hands..unless we wash our hands REALLY GOOD after that...or we would be considered not clean and we can't pray..
