I've been with the same bank for at least 10 years and my life is so entagled with them it would take an act of nature to get me to switch. I pay most of my bills on line and some of them come out automatically.
They have my line of credit and my mortgage.
It would take something pretty big to get me to untangle. But I've been happy with them.

I changed when my bank merged as well about 6 years ago. The service charges just got outrageous. The bank I am with now is just a local bank and all my family has moved their accounts to it. I don't intend to ever go back to the Big Bank.

Yes, we have been with the same bank for 10 years. Ours experience was just the opposite - our original bank was purchased by a bigger one and became much better. Sorry, it's a hassle to change banks : (

Oh man, I feel for ya ! I've had to do this before.
The customer service went drastically downhill and they changed the fees (added more), and just in general started to get on my nerves.
I found a much better bank in the meantime that made me wonder why I'd ever went to the first one initially.

I live in a small town, which only has one bank. They do not have free checking and charge you for everything. I have had accounts with them since I was little, but I would change banks in a heartbeat if I could. (I only leave town once a week.)

I changed awhile back after my first bank started charging me for not using my checking account. Then my second bank started charging a bunch of fees on a "free" checking account--$17 in one month!

We have been with our bank since 1993 - it's USAA which caters to military families. We love them. We have had credit cards (still do) auto loans and mortgages with them. We even have all of our investments with them as well as our auto and property insurance. They have the lowest fees and THE best customer service. If you can become a member, I highly recommend it!

I would change banks if they stole a bunch of my money and won't give it back.
