Do they think they're better than everybody else?

You must mean mexicans, because those are the main population in Houston and the rest of Texas. Probably because of security in citizenship, finacially, and socially. But it depends. If they are both close to the same age, then it may be love. If it's like a 56 yr old white guy with a 22 year old girl, she's in it for the security issues stated above above. He's in it, because white guys love latinas and he thinks he's really lucky to find one that "loves" him back (If only he knew they were dime a dozen south of the border). Same for the older white woman and younger mexican male. Even though it's less common, it's basically for the same reasons.

For your info the word Hispanic is used in USA to label persons that live or descend from countries from Central, South America and the Caribbean. We are descendants of the original inhabitants of the Americas, descendants of Africans, Europeans, Asians, middle eastern people, etc. If you go to certain parts of Argentina you will find people who are blond because they descend from Polish, Russian and British. And yes, they are "Hispanics'. Or if you go to Brazil you will find people who are descendants of Africans.
People are entitled to date and marry whoever they want.

I don't think it's just Houston. It happens anywhere. Los Angeles definately. I'm white and my husband is Mexican. Nobody thinks they are better than anyone! We just happened to fall in love and be different races. Last time I checked that is not illegal anymore!! Except maybe techincally in Alabama!

wow. that sounds a bit racist to me.

i don't think that they limit themselves to just white people... i'm hispanic, and among the white guys in my life, i've dated a few different races.

this subject actually surprises me because i know that alot of hispanics like to keep their culture alive by sharing their life with someone with the same values... same upbringing and just... culture. food, music, dance. etc.
