if people are willing to commit suicide on planes what is stopping them from implanting bombs into their body, is that medically possible?

For example I could stick of TNT in my butt!

Why do I want to know? It is only on CNN every F$%^ing second ... thought maybe we could talk current events.

Absolutely, without a doubt no problem.
Let's imagine that you are about to commit suicide by blowing up a plane. How many organs are absolutely vital. Well, heart, lungs, liver, and probably 1 kidney would see you through to the end.
That leaves stomach, much of the intestines, appendix and of course any fat tissue.
So, why aren't people doing it?
1 - most small enough bombs need a metal component which would set off the metal detectors at the airport, no sense blowing up the security station, that's what they're there for.
2 - lets say you have the ability to create completely non-metallic bomb and the trigger is say, punching youself in the gut (it breaks a seal and mixes two chemicals). In order to implant such a device, you need to have a medical doctor who's willing and has enough expertise to remove enough space in your body, then stich your up. At the moment, recovery time after said surgery may be a problem, but there are other places to hide a bomb (anal cavity, womb, etc.) which don't require surgery.
3 - the suicidee has to be willing to undergo surgery and mutilating the body sometimes has religious or phychological problems and may negate the effort.

Why do you want to know? It can only be small if you want it hidden well but they will check it because of the metal detectors. The technology will advance in a few years but seriously, are you a terrorist because no one asks these types of questions. I know that there is a craving to curiosity but there is a limit!

anyway, the bomb would have to be small (for obvious reasons) and the explosion would be partially shielded by your own body. it wouldn't be a very effective bomb, although since the point of terrorism is to terrorize people, it would be effective in that sense.

of course this is assuming it's physically possible, which is your actual question. I don't know is the answer :)
