I am unable to read whats on the tire,, they are old. but still hold air.. right now I have 40psi in them and they are very hard,,do u think thats correct

It should be on the side of the tires.

It all depends on the type of wheels and tires that you have. Best thing is to put the bike in the Trunk and drive to a good Bike shop and ask the Bike Repair person.

I dont know maybe till tire hard and don't put in too much. Tube will go KABOOM
Actually try bouncing tire if it bounces at least 3 times then perfect pressure
