Of course. The oil execs are getting paid BIG time.Life must be good for you when you take advantage of others. That is why they are so reluctant to support research of any other alternative fuel sources. They would have you to believe it doesn't work when Brazil has been doing it successfully for years (not relying on oil/gas, that is).

For those interested here are some reasons why gas/oil prices are high:
1. some arab governments are seeking to take advantage of the wars in the middle east.
2. democrats and spineless republicans have repeatedly blocked the oil companies from drilling for oil in new areas.
3. The government has made it nearly impossible to build more refineries in this country so that none have been built in 30yrs.
4. The EPA mandates formulas per season per region. During katrina the gas companies had to obtain "special" permission from the EPA to relax those restrictions.
5. Taxes all the way down the line keep increasing on fuel
Has anyone ever asked how much the government is making off the gas?
Our current fuel supply chain is a delicate balance due to government regulations and it doesn't take much to disrupt it. The only control measure the gas companies have is price and that is even regulated to prevent stations from selling gas to cheap.
Want to know where the problem lies? Look at government.

You are making a blind accusation, without knowing whether President Bush even has any oil stocks. We can assume that he, like any other sensible person, has a diversified investment program, which would require that he own some oil stocks. You can bank on one thing, that all of his investments were placed in a blind trust before he was sworn in as President, or even as Governor of Texas, so he has not had personal control of his investment for all that time, and will not until he retires.

I hate when people talk about Bush fighting over oil. What if he is, there blowing it up, were saving it. How did u get to work today, in a car or bus or whatever u use, thats needs oil. So next time you think about Bush and oil, u need to thank him.

Don't look now but everyone that has oil interests are making a killing. But many of us have them included in our retirement funds. Would we want those investments losing? Not me. USA still has a good price for gas compared to many other countries. Grin and bear it.

You know, if you think they are making a killing you can just buy the stock too. Anyone can do it. If you think he is making a killing off his stock and that is somehow "unfair", then you are just stupid because you aren't doing it.
