Hey,
I am a student, I am very intelligent and do great in school. Unfortunatley my laptop is old obsolete and non working. I need someway to get a laptop for FREE. I am broke all money goes to bills gas and food. Is there a government program? Anything? I have made all A's through out my elementary middle and high school education. I made great scores on ACT and SAT for example I made 500 on Algebra and 416 biology. All my SAT scores were in 400 500 range. Act was above 30. Please help me.

Get a job! Earn the money yourself and actually buy one like the rest of the world does for God's sake lol. Since when is it the government's or anyone's job to give you a free computer? lol Gee can we all get one too? Really, being so smart as you claim to be, that was really lame and it's sad you never thought of working all Summer to buy one lol. Get a job now and you can buy one by Christmas. Then you will know what it is to have to work and earn something. Life is no free ride. lol You are an adult now. Along with that comes responsibility and accountability and taking care of yourself.
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR ADDED COMMENTS: No one here has been "mean" lol. This just shows your maturity level. Whaaaa Whaaaaa why can't I get my way? Again the government does not owe you a computer or anything else. lol This seems to be a hard concept for you to grasp for some reason. Buy one on time then. Figure out a way to take care of your own life. Budget. If you are so smart, then work more hours or get a better job or something. Find a way already! You say you pay taxes to take care of other people, yet that is exactly what you are looking for lol...someone to take of you. Please! Big news flash, not every single person who goes to school even owns a computer! Use the computers in the library.
What's really interesting is looking at all your other questions on here where you refer to the fact that you have an HP IpaQ and a PC at home and a music device lol. You seem to have "found" all the money to buy all of that stuff lol. You also asked a question about a 2003 car you were gong to buy. lol Maybe you need less "toys" and need to get your priorities straight. lol That, or get your stories straight lol. You were looking to spend $11,000 on a car yet you want a free computer. Pretty funny.

Hmmm.......when I was in college there were no laptops!!!! I had a desktop which was 286 with not even 1GB hard drive, and I thought this machine was da bomb. In high school I typed papers on an electric typewriter.
Most colleges and high schools have desktop computers available for your use. Why do you NEED a laptop, anyway??

nothing in this world is free.. sorry.. if you need a computer go to a library.. if you need go to bill gates foundation web site.. they have grant and education programs to help people like you.. goodluck

You should explore all grants and scholarship programs (public and private). A lot of them gives a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to use for anything.
