I pegged the 160 mph speedometer in a 1971 Hemi Cuda back in 1975. Did 136 on a 1974 Honda 750.

I have never gone above 80. But then I am also older and survived a serious car accident where the guy behind me was driving over the speed limit, didn't hear the sirens of the ambulance, didn't see the police car in the intersection and didn't stop in time - so sent me through the intersection with the police car and the ambulance, puncturing my car's gas tank and causing all of my doors to be pushed shut so that they could not be opened without the jaws of life. By the way the laws for wearing seat belts had not been passed yet - so we didn't have to wear them when the accident occurred, it just so happens that I did.

I went 125 on a motorcycle and 130 in a car when I was a teenager but I would never do it now. I value my life more now than I did then. I don't have that feeling of immortality anymore.

Well over 120 mph, I buried the needle and was still accelerating.
It was late at night, the road was empty and there was a report of people trapped in a burning house. I also was running emergency lights and siren!

I've done 140 in my stang. Wouldn't recommend it...kinda scary on a 2 lane highway with traffic.
motorcycles can go over 180, it's nothing to doubt.
