The man paid a million $'s in taxes and some people are calling him a crook? LOL.....I am amazed. The Vice President makes less than 200K a yr. There tax records are public. It doesn't appear that there was too much cheating going on if he paid as much as he did. Personally the President is lucky to have a man of Dick Cheney stature as 2nd in Command. For as little as he makes, it's barely worth the BS that goes with the job. I know many more that make more that put up with much less.

He only has a little more than 400,000 shares of Haliburton. There stock is not that great. Its certainly isn't any where near the stature of a Microsoft or Intel.

His income last year was almost $2 million, on which he paid over $500,000 in taxes.

Cheney opted in December 1998 to recoup over five years a portion of the money he made in 1999 as Halliburton's chief executive. This amount was to be paid in annual installments -- with interest -- after Cheney's retirement from the company. The 2005 payment is the last.

Dick Cheney was well paid as the CEO of Halliburton, before he gave up a big salary, bonus, and other benefits to serve as Vice President. His savings were voluntarily placed in a blind trust, meaning that he has no control of his investments while he remains in office.

Your right! Why is the Vice President of America making that kind of money shouldn't there be a law against conflict of interest?

You know it influences his legislation.

And other congressmen too.
