Your test may have been positive, but you may have had an incomplete miscarriage, so you haven't started bleeding yet. Be sure your doctor checks out that possibility. But blood work should show pregnancy hormones in your system, even if you had a miscarriage. On the other hand, you may have misread your test, and bloating or weight gain may be mimicking pregnancy. Ask your doctors until all your questions are answered.

What type of test did your doctor do on you? If it was a blood test you can believe THAT was more accurate than any over the counter pee on a stick test. IF it was a urine sample test, call your doctor and ask if there would be anything that would cause a negative result on a positive pregnancy, when I came in with a urinary tract infection I told them I was pregnant, but apparently looking for the signs of infection wasn't the ONLY thing they did with my pee, after doing a work up with the nurse, the doctor came in and said, yup you have a urinary tract infection and since you're not pregnant I'm going to put you on such and such medication, I said EXCUSE ME, I am TOO pregnant!!! And he said, oh... the results were negative. And then he changed my perscription (I WAS in fact pregnant at the time). I later miscarried (about 2 weeks later, and the doctor said one thing was not related to the other), sometimes blood in the urine sample, which happens when you have a bladder infection gives you a false negative. I'm not saying you will miscarry, but what I am trying to say is there are REASONS your doctor could be saying no, and maybe further testing may be required. But you have to ask yourself this, do you WANT to be pregnant (people who want it badly enough can produce the same symptoms down to actually lactating)? Have you had your period in the time you thought you might be pregnant? If your doctor tested your urine and not your blood then there is a good chance something went wrong with the testing, like it did for me. But if it was a blood test your doctor is right, and you need to come to terms with this, I've never been through it, but thinking you're pregnant (especially if you are excited and happy about it) and then finding out you're not can be as devastating as a miscarriage. Go back to the doctor in a week or so if you still haven't had your period, until then go on acting like you're pregnant (watch what you eat, don't smoke, and don't drink etc). By the way if you're only 7 weeks pregnant and this is your FIRST time it's doubtful you are really beginning to show all THAT much! I wish you luck!

If the doctor did a blood test then I am sure he is right. Sometimes women just have big tummys. Why your home pregnancy test came out positive I do not know. I guess they are not always 100 percent correct. Next time try ept or first response I think they are the best.

You could have miscarried and the baby was absorbed. That happened to me, and it was the hardest thing believing it. I'm sorry about it for you. Your doctor doesn't just look at the test, but there are physical changes which would confirm or deny pregnancy, as well. You didn't mention if you had a blood or urine test at the docs?

Home pregnancy tests are not reliable, but blood tests at the doctor's are. If you haven't had your period by next month, check it out again at the doctor's. Take your prenatal vitamins just in case. If the doctor did a blood test, though, and said you weren't, then you probably aren't.

It is possible and more common than you think.
Many times a woman becomes pregnant without even knowing it but for many different reasons will miscarry.
Its possible that you were pregnant but miscarried early on.
60% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, the vast majority very early on
Early miscarriage is a very common part of pregnancy. As many as 30% of women will experience one, usually before they even miss a period, or realize they are pregnant. Most early miscarriages are a result of a developing fetus that is unhealthy and has little chance of surviving to the end of pregnancy.

Well, you wouldn't have this big tummy so early in the pregnancy. Didn't the doctor discuss what else could be causing your problems-if not, find a new doctor quickly and get a proper blood test.

this is what i've heard my whole life " you can have a "false" negative, but not a "false" positive" when it comes to pregnancy tests..meaning if it says you're not pregnant, there maybe a chance you really are..but if the test says you are pregnant, then there isn't a chance you're not...........so maybe your doctors test was wrong.take another home pragnancy test. if positive, go back to your doctor

I think that you should have your doctor do a blood test and that should determine if you are pregnant or not. If your doctor refuses to do one them you should go to a different doctor.
