I have no idea and I was looking for the inside info. That has to be one of the weirdest things I have seen. Islanders are in trouble. Their management is clearly terrible . The Arena is falling down, the worst one in hockey. The players are fairly bad also.

Great observation! Agreed, the Isles have the worst arena in the league. I've been to 18 and it's by far the worst. Hiring a person clearly identifiable as a Ranger is just not smart. Ditto for Dave Maloney and broadcaster Howie Rose.

Smith has spent the summer at his cottage in Nova Scotia, Canada. Far away from the press, but not that far from Islanders Training Camp which is in Yarmouth, NS.

Becuase he didn't get along with Charles Wang (Owner)
Wang wanted to run the team by commitie but Smith wanted different
I think this was the dumbest thing that anyone could of done
