Its not a real new show, but it is a real news SOURCE. More young people get their news there than any real news programs. Which is kind of scary, but with the way so many of the news programs are nowadays...
The Daily Show has never claimed to be a real show. They, in fact, go out of their way to make people realize they are NOT a real news show. As Jon Stewart once said, the show that [used to] lead into them was a bunch of puppets making prank phone calls!
Nevertheless, The Daily Show is the only new source that has the guts to show the clips Bush doesn't want you to see. You know, the current ones where he'll deny he ever said something, and then Stewart will show the clip from nine months ago showing Bush saying the exact thing he denied.
Maybe there's a reason so many people are getting their news from such sources.

I would be willing to wager that more people that watch the Daily Show watch an actual news source (and more than one) than people who watch Fox News watch a second news source...
in other words... I bet people who watch the daily show get news from more sources than people who watch Fox news... on average

What has replaced in this sense about GOP?

Yeah, it's a lot like Fox news that way, except that John Stewart mentions it in every show that it's not a real news program.

Yes. It's fake news. Stewart mentions that one or two times per week.
But he also makes it clear which news tapes have been edited and which ones are real. Something most other programs don't.
And it's too bad that you don't have enough of a sense of humor to find some of it funny. That's your loss.

yea it is a joke not real news. but a way to get teens to watch it and actually know what is going on around the world without really taking the time to watch the real deal. but if it gets more young people to get involved and learn about news today go for it.

Guess your flavor of humor clashes with Stewart's. Why the asshole attitude towards those of us who enjoy the fake news?
