Price is not the issue. Wear trendy dressy shoes that do not have pointy toes or pencil heels. A more rounded toe is much better for your feet. If you regularly where pointed toe shoes, your toes will stay that way and you will get bunions. I have seen it before, it is disgusting. The lower the heel the better. Higher heels look more dressy, so stick with a clunkier heel. They are much easier to walk in and do not put as much stress on your feet and legs. When you get home soak and massage your feet.

Expensive shoes aren't the problem. It's most likely that you're standing around for a long period of time, and that you're not wearing comfortable shoes. Even a pair of $10 shoes would probably be better if you were comfortable in them than a $200 pair.

I would suggest getting new insoles (preferably a gel one), and put them in your shoe. If you wear socks, make sure it's clean (so your feet don't stink). Soak your feet in water for about 30 minutes when you get home from work (I think they have those tubs that you can soak your feet in and it sort of massages them too).

And if you have to stand for long periods of time, ask if your job has any recommendations on preventing back injury (at my job, we had to watch a video on back injury prevention, and were told to do all these things to lower the chances. An injured back can sometimes make your feet hurt too, and cashiers surprisingly are the biggest complainers of back problems due to having to stand in one spot for a long time most of the time, and yes, their feet hurt too).

Try using cushion insoles. When you get home, soak your feet for a few minutes, and massage with some lotion. Mary Kay has a Mint Bliss Pedicure Set that's great for tired feet. Also, they have a Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs. Works great and can be used over your nylons when your legs start getting tired during the day.
