With a month and a half left to play, as far ahead as they are in the standings, they can play .550 baseball and safely win the division. It's time to stop asking whether or not Detroit will make the playoffs and start realizing what a great season they're having. The Tigers aren't falling off.

Dude, all they have to do is play .500 ball the rest of the year, and we'll finish with 100 wins.

The Tigers should win The Central Division.

So I am not worried at all.

the white sox could sweep us this weekend, and we would still have a 5.5 game lead.

Yes, The Tigers are for real. The Tigers are NOT a fluke.

They'll win the division. I don't think they'll have the hitting to get through the playoffs though. Plus, they have had a tough time against playoff contenders like the Red Sox and White Sox. They do have one thing that's phenomenal, and that's pitching. Even the Atlanta Braves will tell you that's what's made them playoff contenders since the 90's, lol. Who knows, with a coach like Leyland, with timely hitting like they've had all season, and the pitching staff that's put up the numbers like they have, we could see a championship in the making.

Probably not, and they don't have to in order to win the division. But, if they begin to falter now, it will make winning in the playoffs much harder psychologically for them. They have very good White Sox and Twins teams chasing them so if the Tigers want to win in the playoffs, I think they must not slump now.
