He was trying to further his career. I know exactly what you are talking about. . Some people would highly disagree but I will always feel that way. He made money off the war.

John Lennon could have recorded anything and sold it. His career was never in jeopardy so he did not have to revamp. He was also always aware of what was going on politically and socially his whole career. He also could have retired when ever he wanted so money was never an issue. The world lost a great man the day he was murdered. He did what he did because of his love of his fellow man and tried to tell people the truth through his words, actions and music.

i think he genuinely thought he could make a difference, he probly knew he was being used but figured that was the lesser of two evils
