A "hookah" is a very elaborate type of pipe used for smoking various substances, both legal (tobacco) and illicit (opium, etc).

A hooka or hookah is a Middle Eastern or South Asian pipe used for smoking various substances such as tobacco or marijuana. It's also known as a water pipe.
It is shaped like a candlestick, with a bowl that contains the substance and the heating apparatus on top and a hose around a foot or two long.

A hooka is one of those big bong-looking pipes that people in the Middle East often smoke (tobacco) through. Many of the Middle Eastern restaurants near us have them, and people can pay to smoke them, and there are different flavors that you can choose. Or, if you remember Alice in Wonderland, the caterpillar was smoking a hooka.
