Timing belt top sprocket look to have the keyway straight up next #1 piston at top and crankshaft keyway straight up also. Now that pesky idler sprocket that turns the oil pump and distributer, or 8 spark plugs no distributer there is a dot and pointer look closely on the drivers side aluminum part notch and dot on the sprocket. Auto Tech Way! Mark everything that turns before taking the belt off and make sure they all line up after you reinstall the belt and turn the engine around twice. Check with the timing belt supplier if that engine is interference "I don't think it is" if it is do not turn the engine with the belt off. And if the belt came off while driving interference means valve hitting piston$$

Besure the engine is on TDC. the cam has a v mark on it that will align up with the middle mark on the plastic piece, it will be at a 7 oclock postion. The counter balance shaft, now this is the tricky part. If it is a dist. ign then take the cap off and turn it till the rotor button is facing the #1 cyl on the cap. If its distrubtor less then take it to the dealer. There is a special tool designed for this to align the camshaft sensor up.
